The town of Gypsum is situated along the Eagle River and west of world-class ski areas Vail and Beaver Creek. The town is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, parks, golf courses. The mix of rural and urban lifestyles makes it the perfect place from which to enjoy many of its popular outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, camping, biking, and hunting. The downtown area of Gypsum is where visitors can find restaurants, cozy cafes, and shops. Throughout the year, Gypsum hosts several events such as the Gypsum Daze Festival.

MAIN ATTRACTIONS

Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE)  covers 632 acres and has one runaway, the airport is mostly seasonal, with more flights scheduled during the winter season. During ski season, due to its proximity to the famous ski resorts, Vail and Beaver Creek, EGE is the second busiest airport in Colorado after Denver International Airport. Flights over the summer have become more popular for tourists with the United and American airlines offering flights year-round.

Gypsum Shooting Sports Park is located north of the I-70 Gypsum exit. The park is available to all levels of shooting athletes, and it attracts athletes from all over the region to use the park for education purposes, shooting practice, and to participate in the many shooting events. The facility offers rifles, pistols, and archery.

Golf Courses are situated in a beautiful setting with stunning views. The tough layouts feature rolling fairways that are enclosed with pinion and juniper trees. Golf courses are a terrific choice for regular rounds of golf or a new destination to hang out with friends when visiting Gypsum, Colorado.

LEDE Reservoir is a very popular camping location that offers fishing and free dispersed camping spots. The location is at an elevation of 9,573 feet; therefore, access to the site may be limited during the winter season. LEDE is a perfect location for a weekend family getaway.

SIGNATURE EVENTS

Gypsum Daze is a community event that brings friends, families, and neighbors to celebrate Colorado and rural mountains the “Gypsum’s way.” This event is filled with fun activities such as parades, concerts, food, contests, talent shows, and more. Gypsum Daze typically happens in the summer and it is an event that brings thousands of people from all over the state

Spring Eggstravaganza is an annual event that features age-appropriate egg hunts, crafts in the library, pictures with bunnies, and many other fun activities. The day starts with Gypsum’s Fire Department’s pancake breakfast and the toddler and preschool egg hunt. Celebrate Easter Sunday with unlimited fun, food, music, and other interesting activities.

Fourth of July Celebration is a family-friendly event that usually starts with live music concerts along with free food and other desserts, followed by an awesome firework show at 9 pm. This event brings all the essential elements of a patriotic day. You can bring your picnic fixings to enjoy a wonderful day with family and friends.

There are probably a lot of things you expect from the Vail Valley, but what you are probably not expecting is the experience you will have in downtown Gypsum; it is the perfect place to have an extraordinary dining experience because it has a cozy atmosphere, a great mood, comfortable settings, and amazing views of the mountains. There are plenty of options such as Mexican food, Hawaiian, Asian, Bistros, and many other options.
