Locals’ Favorite Dog Related Activities

We certainly love our dogs in the Vail Valley. We asked locals to share their favorite dog related activities. If you have any four-legged friends coming with you to the Valley, find plenty of things to do with them during your visit.

“I would recommend hiking for guests of the Valley looking to get out in nature with their furry companions. With over 99+ trails from East Vail to Eagle, the Valley is filled with beginner to expert dog-friendly options.” – Bryan from The Sebastian – Vail

“A walk along the Eagle Valley Recreation Trail from Avon to Freedom Park (Edwards) is a great way to get some activity for both humans and dogs! Freedom Park offers a separate off-leash area for socialization, running and a swim in the pond.” – Ineke from Town of Avon

“The Vail Farmer’s Market & Art Show is held every Sunday during the summer and is always full of dogs. The market is very pet-friendly and welcomes all leashed dogs. With everything from entertainment, food, flowers, produce and locally-made crafts, it’s always a great way to spend a morning in the summer.” – Sarah from The Hythe

“Dogs are truly everywhere in the Valley. There are so many pet-friendly activities to choose from, but my favorite is a hike on the Minturn Mile followed by a stop at Vail Brewing Company for a cold beer on their patio.” – Matt from the Inn at Riverwalk

“The GoPro Mountain Games is the best dog-friendly event in the valley. The DockDogs competition is great for spectators and you can even enter your own dog in the high jump or long jump competitions as well.” – Chris from Sonnenalp Hotel
