Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships

The 2013 U.S. Open will take place at Vail Mountain from Feb. 25 to March 2, 2013. The U.S. Open has spent the last 30 years in Vermont — the home of Burton Snowboards — the last 27 at Stratton Mountain.

Now that the U.S. Open will be held in Vail means that all of the major snowboarding competitions — the Dew Tour, X Games, Grand Prix and U.S. Open — will now be held in Colorado.

The Burton US Open, which first took place in 1982, is now the longest-running snowboarding competition in the world, attracting the world’s top competitors. After taking place on the east coast for 30 years, the event will now take center stage at Vail Mountain beginning in 2013.
